The Mojave Road travels through the middle of the Mojave
National Preserve and in between the I-40 and I-15 in South Eastern California.
The road starts on the banks of the Colorado River near Needles and ends at Camp
Cady (near I-15 between Baker and Barstow). Just over 130 miles of some of the
most beautiful views imaginable. Most of the road is an easy drive, however four
wheel drive and good vehicle clearance is necessary and there are a few places
where the terrain is more difficult. What we found after the trip
was green stickered vehicles are not allowed on portions of the Mojave Trail
through Mojave National Preserve.

Day One: Calico to Laughlin

Ready to head out from Calico We only got about 10 miles into
the first day when I had engine problems. We ended up getting towed
back to the road where we were met by a truck/trailer that took us back to
Calico. After Mike Lasher of Side x Side Action Magazine made a few
calls, we ended up heading to Bullhead City, Arizona to see if we could get
the Rhino fixed up so we could continue the trip. We ended up
at Wet n' Wild Motorsports. They dropped what they were doing and tore
into my Rhino engine.

The Rhino carnage - A valve floated and cause minimal damage to the piston.
A new set of valves and springs and we were back together.
Day Two: Laughlin to Primm

We arrived at Buffalo Bill's in Primm just about dark, but there was still
some work to do....

George got some Walker Evans Racing shocks for his Rhino. The stock
shocks were shot.

Flat Tire Repair Kit - We hit a
rock real hard and slice the sidewall pretty good. The tire repair
worked like a charm.

Day Three: Primm to Calico

Trail after leaving Buffalo Bill's in Primm

Cindercone

This lost soul took the wrong turn and buried with 2 wheel drive truck in
the sand. We let some air out of his tires and gave him a push and that was
all that was needed.
