Information:

The stock Kawasaki KFX450R fuel tank is a pathetic 2.6 gallons.  Not bad if you are just riding around the track, but for long rides in the dunes, it just doesn't cut it. For example, up in Idaho at the St. Anthony Sand Dunes, we started from Sand Hills Resort heading for the big dunes past Egin Lake.  I didn't even make it to Choke Cherry before I had to turn around.

I also like to make the 40+ mile run from Gordons Well up to Glamis and back, and I knew there wasn't anyway the stock KFX450R fuel tank would make it.

Thankfully IMS Products makes a 3.7 gallon oversize tank for the KFX450R.

Installation:

The new tank comes with a new fuel cap. All stock hardware is reused.

The installation was pretty straight forward. It me me about an hour to remove the old tank, swap parts from the old tank to the new tank, and install the new tank.

  
The hardest part of the install was removing and reinstalling the factory fuel feed and sensor wires.

     
Plastic all fits back in place using stock hardware.

Conclusion:

This is a huge plus for me.  The extra 1+ gallons of fuel will make long rides a possibility. I no longer need to worry about whether I have enough fuel for the trip or not.

The installation was simple.  Fit and finish of the tank was perfect, and I retained my factory plastics.

I highly recommend this product for your KFX450R.
